Our editorial ratings use the same six criteria on every review. The weights total 100%:

The percentages are editorial priority weights that total 100%. They guide the team’s judgment; the overall rating is assigned editorially and is not generated by an automated sub-score formula.

Ratings are stored on a 5-point scale and displayed as a score out of 10. For example, a stored rating of 4.6 is displayed as 9.2 out of 10.
